Modern development processes put architecture and design models in the center of systems engineering activities. With the increasing application of software controlled functions such development processes have obtained a high significance in the safety critical industries too. In addition, functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or SAE ARP 4761 require safety analysis procedures to be tightly integrated with these engineering activities.
Dr. Olaf Kath will show a solution (The MEDINI Tool) to tackle the need for such integration by using architecture and design models as a single source of information for functional safety analysis activities and methods. Moreover, a seamless round-trip approach between the activities of the system design, the requirements engineering and the functional safety analysis activities is presented.
An end-to-end Requirement-based Validation Process: at the specification phase, system architects need to detect ambiguous, incorrect, missing, or conflicting requirements before the design begins. In addition, they need to create high-quality specifications for the validation of safety-critical embedded systems. Yoram Sacagiu will explain the methodology behind a tool (STIMULUS) that try to find these conflicting requirements, as well as show a Demo of it.
