Model based testing is a practice that leverages modeling concepts for various validation use cases. It is a synergistic approach for model based system and software engineering, but can also be used in cases where implementation is carried out with traditional coding. In this presentation we will explain and demonstrate how modeling concepts are used to construct test suites based on the UML testing profile. We will also discuss various use cases of validation during various lifecycle stages, from systems engineering to software unit testing. We will also show how model based testing supports compliance with safety standards such as DO-178 and ISO-26262.
